MBOKA: West Africa Travel Market debut in the Gambia
The West Africa sub region is finally coming up with a befitting travel fair that could signal a real integrated marketing opportunity for the region if plans by the Gambia Tourism Authority come out successfully. West Africa Travel Market is an initiative facilitating cooperation between tourism businesses from the region, Africa and the rest of the world. West Africa Travel Market is an open platform where local businesses and communities, international tour operators, investors, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) and governments can meet to support a sustainable development of the tourism sector in West Africa.

West African trials the rest of Africa at the just concluded ITB-Berlin Fair
North, East and South African countries as they have always done, dominated Africa’s participation at the just concluded 46th edition of ITB-Berlin International Tourism Exchange fair. Leading the pack are Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria from North Africa, with South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Lesotho holding sway for their region, the likes of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda also measured up with brilliant performance.

Another historic Argungu International Fishing Festival Held
Argungu International Fishing Festival that was cancelled last year because of political uncertainty in the country has come and gone, but the echo from the 2008 edition which was held between March 12th-15th will lingers on. Like as in the tradition and the highlight of the festival, thousands of local fishermen men hurled themselves into the river to catch the supposed big catch of the day with their hand-held nets in a manic contest.
